On-Site Childcare & Student Parent Support

At the NCCC we strive to support student parents every step of the way. Free, on-site childcare is provided during classes. The childcare space is located in the NCCC Study Center across the hallway from the main classrooms. There is also a private lactation pod on site for nursing parents.

Samantha was the first student parent to attend classes at the NCCC and the free childcare program directly impacted her success in college.
“It feels really nice to know that this program started because I shared my experience and they took it to heart,” said Samantha. “They have done amazing work to provide support for student parents.”

From professors who gave her the flexibility she needed to succeed both as a parent and student, to advisors that helped her navigate local and statewide resources, Naidine found more than just academic support at the NCCC, she found a community. “I had people on my side who were my cheerleaders,” she says. “They believed in me even on days I didn’t believe in myself.”
